ok, so maybe it’s not a hurricane quite yet, but the new TS (Tropical Storm) Alberto is supposed to slam into Tampa early this week. Having lived in FL and originally being from there, there is nothing crazier then a new hurricane warning &/or watch every week. I remember last year was really insane, and people (the locals) have what are now known as ‘Hurricane Parties’.
Usually when hurricanes are among us, it’s not a good idea to go oustide because you could end up with a tree going straight through you. That’s why people hold these parties, and it’s kind of like a lock down. So you stock up on the essentials, water, batteries, flash lights, you name it, all incase your power gets killed by 80 MPH winds. After being to these hurricane parties I can tell you that it gets pretty crazy after the third day. Some weeks we had back to back hurricanes and we just had to “Hunker Down“. Google that and all you will find is hurricane stories I’m sure.
Let’s face it, hurricanes are definetly here to stay, at least for the next decade, and with the new one already getting momentum, this will be one interesting season.
If you live in the path of the usual hurricane roadway, chances are you have become familiar with the popular site NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s ) weather.gov. This site is the absolute best to gather information about these storms, so even if you don’t live in TS’s paths, it’s kind of cool to check out.
