I know I haven’t posted in a while, but what is going on? I just got back from over the weekend, going to the ZOO, check out flickr.
CEO of Google, has just joined Apple. This of course means they are planning some giant alliance to take over Microsoft. So this is what you have to look at, Pixar owns Disney, Apple Owns Pixar, Google owns the internet, therefore, Apple owns the Internet. That is the type of support you need, for things to be moved along. Some cool stuff, in the mean time, Ive got to get my study on. More posts to come soon.
The new Batman Begins sequel, now known as the “Dark Knight”, has just casted Heath Ledger to play the Joker. This has been confirmed. Other casting rumours have been about every character from Penguin to Two Face. Christian Bale will return as Batman.
I don’t know how I feel about Heath Ledger being the Joker, and why they are even making a movie about the Joker again, since Jack Nicholson did it. They should have focused on a character that hasn’t been used. But I do think this isn’t a horrible choice, not nearly as bad as AAAARNOLD being Mr. Freeze, “Just Chill!”, because I think ol’ BrokeBack can pull off a good crazy person. They should totally make him look like the comic book though. Crazy teeth and all.
Several, and I mean several, .dot Mac users are reporting alot of problems with their iDisks. In the Apple Support Forums users have joined together to take this error on head forward.
My guess is that Apple is sort of doing some tweaking to dotmac to make it free next week, but who knows. Still if you pay 100 bucks a year, and you can’t even upload your stuff to dotMac then you are getting screwed. Flood the phone lines over at C-Tino to get this fixed.
So is the iPhone about to be dropped on us, I don’t think so. Engadget is reporting that a photographer used for promo stuff has just got back from Apple, taking pictures of the sexiest phone he has ever seen.
Doesn’t Apple have their own photographers and graphics department, so why wouldn’t everything just be internal so nothing leaks. My guess is that we wont see this next week.
I cannot wait for the Nintendo Wii! I think that will be the only next gen game console I actually buy, it looks really unique, and I love the types of games that come with Nintendo, like Mario, Zelda, etc. To me the Xbox is not as cool as I originally thought, and I really don’t want one. The Playstation 3 is supposed to be really expensive, so that leaves the Nintendo Wii. Also the new DS Lite looks awsome, especially with the browser software that Opera has wrote for the built in Wifi! This is of course the coolest feature of the DS, also it’s supposed to work with the Wii in a cool way. Can’t wait for X-Mas! Ha!
Everyone at Digg is jealous of my skills and magic. I never realized how many haters actually sit on digg all the live long day.
Digg is a community of internet enthusiast that can post their opinions on all sorts of topics. Having said that, common who doesn’t agree with me that TUAW sucks?
In other news…..Don’t go see Lady in the F^(Uing Water…..It doesn’t make much of a …..’Splash”, get it?
It has such good potential, being a story about fantasy and all, but it blows. I mean common, the movie ends without ending, it just sucks. M Night is in alot of it too, I thought he was more like Hitchcock just showing up randomly and for a cameo, but now he acts. Don’t waste your 7.50.
The girl, BDHoward, plays a water Nymph from some water world, which you never see, and that she has come to the COVE to do something, I think it is to talk to M Night, but you don’t really know. ???? So she talks to M Night, then tries to go home, but can’t and then a wolf is trying to get her, while a kid reads secret messages in cereal boxes, and someone heals cuts and wounds, while mohawk monkeys swoop down.
Two days ago I wrote that iTunes should change the name of the music store to iTunes Media Store, and today TUAW just wrote the same thing.
Their stories are so weak now anyways.
PhillRyu.com – Fake Leopard Screenshot Contest Winners: Better Than The Real Thing?
So we all know that Leopard os 10.5 is going to make it’s debut on Aug. 7th, but what kind of features is it expected to have?
Some believe that it will feature Windows XP/Vista Virtualization, which means that we will be able to run windows APPS right out of the box, without having to launch windows.
I do not believe that this will be a feature in Leopard- because how much of a slap in the face is this to the current OS X developers at their own conference, “Oh yeah by the way, all the hard work you go into developing our APPS, well we don’t need you anymore. I also think that the idea of OS X running Windows simul, will be bad because the open source community of linux developers will be bombarded with the current Windows world of paid software.
Also what apps do you absolutely need on windows anyways???? To me, there are more useful APPS just for MAC, then anything on Windows-
You have your Microsoft Office on Mac and thats all you need from windows world. Which these could soon be replaced by Writely anyways. (Ala, GOOGLE!)
So I don’t think we will be seeing this in LEOPARD!
What I do think we will see…..
1. Of course, a new FINDER, and sleeker look.
New menus, and the idea that all APPS can be FULL SCREEN, will be sweet.
2. Spotlight EVERYWHERE!
I have noticed alot of users that don’t even use spotlight, maybe because they think it is hard to use, so that’s why I think Spotlight will be integrated into evertyhing, including applications that don’t even use it.
3. Ease of USE – New Features.
If you thought OS X was easy to use now, wait until Leopard. I think that will be be so easy to find things, and use, that it will be a complete leap forward over VISTA! We already know everything about VISTA, and when it is coming out. WE KNOW NOTHING OF LEOPARD! This is going to be awsome, because they have been working on stuff that they do not want leaked out, for fear of MS stealing the idea, therefore by they time they release Leopard, VISTA will be too late to add anything. Just wait and see the new ease of use features.
4. More Focus on Universal Access and Speech Rec.
This will be one of my favorite features. OS X comes out of the box with awsome Speech Rec, but it could be so much better, and with the recent voice technology in the new Nike + iPod Nano, I think we will hear more HUMAN like voices and it will be like stepping into the future.
5. Dashboard will be gone like BUTTA
Dashboard will have the option to quit it, and it won’t stay open in the dock. It will be an integral part of the OS and not a seperate application.
6. Better integreation with other APPLE hardware
I think we are about to see alot of new hardware come out from APPLE, including the new Mac Pros with Quad, and some new iPods. Leopard being the first official native Intel OS will have much faster and better syncing abilities than any OS. The difference with your iPod on the new OS and WinBlows VISTA will be so noticeable that you will no doubt swtich OS just to use these features on your iPod. Apple OS only features of the iPod.
7. iChat is now VOIP
Everyone know that there is a major update the iChat coming, and with the current view, having that 3 person video chat is kind of choppy and hard to use at times, if your bandwitdth is not timing out, well with the new iChat not only will a list of new features come with the app, but it will use smart VOIP technology instead of the current IM Model. But better voice, much better picture, and the new whiteboard feature, which will allow you to share your screen with Windows/Mac Users, this is another reason why windows switchers could switch to MAC.
8. Way better graphics
You know why…
9. Automation
Automater will become inegrated, and will let you perform almost any task automatically so nicely. This will save time in businesses mainly, on routine tasks that they perform.
10. Social Networking – Dot MAC
This is the biggest current craze going, ala Facebook, Myspace, anything. Behold DOT MAC Social Networking. Profiles galore. .Mac will be free and you will be able to connect to millions of other dot mac users and your profiles can be traded, what you are listening to, everything. this will truly be you’re official iLife.
So with the WWDC coming up, I think that the focus will be on the MAC IS BACK, and develop develop develop for Leopard because it will recieve a whole lot of users when it comes out for sale. The THEME of the conference will be I’m a Mac, and I’m a PC, and you will def. know the difference in terms of speed, usability, and productivity.
The iTunes Music Store should be changed to the iTunes Media Store, now with the possible debut of movies on demand, via the iTunes interface. Also on the mill is the idea that e-books could also make a first appearance, with the idea that you can take books with you wherever you go. This is really awsome, of course they would also have to reveal plans on the new iPod, because battery life, and screen size suck for movies. Can’t Wait till August 7th.
Ok so maybe exercise kind of sucks, and it’s not as cool as going to the movies, or watching your DVR, but I think this is a new reason to quit being a mouse/couch potato.
Behold NIKE + iPod
This thing is really cool and it works with an iPod NANO! Basically what you do is buy the kit, its like 25 bucks, and it comes with a sensor, that goes into Nike’s new shoes called NIKE + . Then with this other device connect it to the end of your ipod, and via bluetooth, the shoe sensor sends data to your ipod! How awsome is that?
It even has voices that tell you how far you have gone, and motiviational words from Lance Armstrong, saying things like “Your Doing Great”, im assuming. What is probably the coolest part is that after you exercise go home and plug in your ipod to your computer and it synce your date to Nike’s website and uploads your progress. Awsome!
The fact now that you can have a patent that specifies a specific idea, and after you use the idea and someone else does, then you can sue them and get tons of money. This is good in some cases, but the fact that Block Buster cannot offer online video rentals like Netflix, because Netflix owns a patent on it, is eliminating our choices as consumers. THE DMCA is getting outs of controls. Oh well…

You don't realize how out of touch you are when you don't have the internet. When the Internet goes down a number of things go with it, for instance the phone, your communication with the outside world. It's crazy how we rely on the Internet so much, if you are away from it for a while you are so out of touch when you get back.
If you have not seen NACHO LIBRE, then what are you doing reading this? Get down to your local theater and see it. I just saw it and it's awsome. It is the funniest movie I have seen in a while, and for some reason critics say, "Oh it's not that good". What are they talking about? Jack Black is histerical with all of his facial expressions, and dances off camera. If you are not familiar with the movie here is a rundown:
Nacho is a cook at an orphanag and really bad wants to become a wrestler, even though he's not so good. Quote "You know why im not a good wrestler……cuz I SUCK!"
So anyways he works a few matches and gets some money to buy food for the kids, which is awsome. "Today, is especially delicious." Damn funny! Check it out.
